And that's a wrap!

2009 has come and gone and seemingly faster than any other year so far. I thought it might be fun to ask the kids what their thoughts were on the New Year coming in and this is what they had to say:

Me: Lydia, did you know that tonight is a special night?
Lydia: :nods head yes:
Me: Why do you think tonight is special?
Lydia: Because I think it's Christmas!
Me: Do you know what year it is?
Lydia: Ummmm....grandmommy's year!
Me: Do you want to make any plans for this new year?
Lydia: Ummm...ummm, I want to play like I'm at school.

Me: Bryan, what is special about tonight?
Bryan: That it's happy new year.
Me: What does that mean?
Bryan: That means we get to celebrate and I get to kiss you tonight.
Me: Do you know what year it is going to be?
Bryan: Happy New Year.
Me: Do you want to make any big plans for 2010?
Bryan: Ummm...Can we go to Disney?
Me: We will. Is there anything else you want to do this new year?
Bryan: Play at Disney.

Me: Do you know that tonight is the last night of 2009?
Elysa: I'nna go potty.
Me: Okay, dear, but can you first tell me what you want to do in 2010?
Elysa: I stink-it. (stinky)
Looks like 2010, just like every other year since 2004, will be another potty-training year for us. Crossing our fingers that it will be our last year that "stinks"! Happy New Year!

He Came...

He dropped it off...and he left. What's up with that???

Santa came Christmas Eve night, and he did not come empty handed, so we know the kids must have been on the "nice" list. But he left all these goodies in the garage for mommy, daddy, and Uncle Thomas to put together in mere hours before the kids got up, which leads me to believe we somehow wound up on the "naughty" list. Hmmm...

So, needless to say Santa's "elves" were up for a majority of the night assembling these toys for the kiddos. And making oh-so-fun memories all at the same time!

It just doesn't get any better than this!

And all you got was one lousy blog entry.

Pssst. You. Yes, you. It's me. Remember me? I'm the author of this trainwreck of a blog. I realize that it's been...well...35 days to be exact since I last posted. And I realize that during this entire season all I gave you was one lousy blog entry. And I know I've been pitiful~with a capital P~when it comes to leaving some bloggy comments to some of my favorite bloggers (you know who you are).

But that doesn't mean that I don't love you anymore. I've been visiting, and reading, but just have not had the time to sit long enough to read AND comment. Let alone update my own blog.

But the time has come, fellow bloggeranianites. (Well, I hope the time has come.) As the holidays wind down, I am determined to catch up with everyone's blogs, comment to let you all know that I've been by, thank you for stopping by to see the tumbleweed roll across my own blog, and ::gasp:: perhaps even update this blog once a week or so! What?!?! I know, I know. I can barely contain my own excitement.

So, to start off, here are a few pictures of yours truly with the stars of the blog. Pictures, by the way, that my dear hubby took with my BRAND NEW CAMERA! :) Hope you enjoy!

Let's get this Party Season started!

Last night we got down one of our Christmas trees and began to decorate.

We did this:
And I snapped these:
Then he did this:Which apparently excited Dylan so much that he burst out into "Santa Clause is coming to town".

And now I am all excited for Christmas!

May this holiday season bring you as much joy as these sweet babies bring me!

Things wii love

We love Craigslist, which has nearly helped us furnish our whole house! We love finding steals on Craigslist like this awesome couch (with matching love seat) that we just bought tonight!
And we love getting home to find out that the curtains (that we bought on Craigslist last year) match the "new" furniture even better than the furniture we had when we bought them to begin with. Score!!We love each other.
And we love "wedgies". Because according to Lydia "wedgie"=wii!
Oh, and wii loved your "wedgie" guesses!

Guess Who!

You'll never guess who in our home has a giiiirrrrlllfriend, who is on the phone at least 4 times a day, and who carries the phone into another room in order to have more "privacy"!Believe it, dear bloggy friends! And he's only in second grade might I remind you! :/

And guess who was sweet enough to let me finally get a great picture of all of my bambinos all decked out in their over-priced-but-ever-so-cheaply-made halloween costumes.
You guessed it! That's my Elmo~or can we call her Elma, since she's technically a female Elmo? :)

Oh, and guess who is becoming quite the family champ at...well...Guess Who?
Yes, sir! Have you ever played Guess Who? It's a neat little game where you try to guess who the other person has by process of elimination and you eliminate choices by asking yes or no questions. Questions like, "Does your person have hair?" or "Is your person wearing glasses?" Or maybe even "Is your person wearing a red shirt?" But those questions are way to easy and for a champ like our Bubba, they really leave no challenge to the game. He prefers the questions like, "Does your person have a head?" and "Does your person have TWO eyes?" Really, I don't know how he does it! ;)

Oooh, oooh! How about this one! Guess who wants a "wedgie" for her birthday?
Yes, indeed. Be careful what you wish for, eh? Nah, I would never do that. Especially since I finally found out what a "wedgie" actually is!

Any guesses? What do you think a "wedgie" is? Leave your guess in the comments section and if you guess it right, maybe I'll give you a "wedgie"! Then again, maybe not. They can be kinda expensive! :D

Trunk-or-Treat 2009

Last Sunday we took the kids to Bartlett Baptist Church's Trunk-or-Treat.Where my children, all decked out in their Halloween costumes, refused to pose for a picture. So, I took the best group picture I could get, which was, unfortunately, without my little Elmo.
I was however able to get a great individual pics of Anikan Skywalker.
And Tinker Bell.
And Bumblebee, turned Iron Man.
But not even one good picture of my little Elmo.
We stayed long enough to have dinner
And a soda.
Before we headed home to get out of the cold. And check out what was in our pumpkins.
Which is where I was able to get my first good group photo of the night. Unfortunately, there were no costumes left at this point.
And I even got a good picture of Elmo. Or, well, Elysa anyway.

Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!!

What's for dinner?

I was planning on having chicken for dinner. But after a second thought

I think I'd prefer the ham. Yummy! :)

**This is Elysa's newest, eh, accomplishment. :) She is always climbing on the top of the tables in the house. After my initial 2 or 3 near-bout-heart-attacks, I decided it was worthy of a few pictures and some blog time. :) I love that little ham!
