WAY-fewer Words Wednesday

So if you know me at all, you know I'm a talker. Or at least that seems to be the trend nowadays. So this is my spin on "Wordless Wednesdays" which I have tried once before and failed miserably. So, perhaps the WAY-fewer Words Wednesday will be a better fit. (Translation: I had a few cute pics I wanted to post and there really isn't much of a story to go along with them.)

Two going on twenty:
Trying to fill his daddy's shoes....errr, hat. My sweetie sippin Sweet Tea!
And now I'm done. That wasn't so bad now was it? :) Sure beats me sharing another video of all my kids screaming/crying/making irritating grinding noises with their toys.

Happy Wednesday!

Not Me! Monday ~ Stellan Style

Welcome back everyone to the GodseySix edition of Not Me! Monday. This blog carnival is hosted by MckMama, who at this very time is in the hospital with her 5 month old son, Stellan. Now, usually on Mondays I'd send you on over to her site to see what she and everyone else have not been doing this week. But as she is with her beautiful son right now, another Not Me! Monday-er has stepped up to the plate to cover while MckMama is tending to her son. You can check out her blog this week to see what she and everyone else have not been doing now that Stellan is fighting to get well. So, let's get down to it: This week's Not Me! Monday will be "Stellan Style"!
This week did not start off with some terrible news about MckMama's youngest son, who on Sunday night was transported to Children's Hospital as a result of his heart going into SVT, a complicated heart condition where his heart rate rose to dangerous levels and has remained there all week so far. I did not spend my entire work day on Monday refreshing MckMama's website hoping for new updates. I am way too busy at work and do not have the kind of time to do something like that. Not me!

Nor did I have random crying fits in my office at work, behind closed doors over this sweet boy. I mean, because I have never met him and I probably never will. And I just don't cry over people I don't know. Nope! Not me!

I did not become a member of a "Pray for Stellan" group on facebook. I did not wake up a couple of nights and check MckMama's website for possible midnight updates. And I certainly did not lie awake at night thinking of some original way to spell out Stellan's name in Memphis. Un-uh! Not me!

I did not, for the first time ever, finally understand and truly gain an appreciatiation for twitter. And I did not, as a result, consider for a half a second signing up for it myself. Not me! No sir-ee!

I did not dedicate my facebook status this week to getting the message out about Stellan. I did not get a little butterfly in my stomach when I saw that he made it to the top of our Sunday School class' prayer list yesterday. And I did not beg and plead with God daily to heal this baby. Not me!

I did not fall madly in love with this little boy and his family in a matter of weeks. And I do not think that God led me in the direction of MckMama's blog to show me what it means to cling to Him with everything you have, no matter what. Not me, my friends, no not me!

So, that about sums up what I have not been doing this week. I'm sure MckMama would love to hear from you and I'm pretty sure that she would love to know that you have joined the huge band of prayer warriors that are praying for her family during this time. So, if I were you I would not head on over to her blog to leave her a comment of encouragement.

Reason # 37...

...Why I don't take my kids out in public more often:
Me (on the ride home from Chuck E Cheese tonight): Lydia, did you have fun tonight?
Lydia: Yes!
Me: Well, what was your favorite part?
Lydia: When Bryan slapped Chuck E Cheese's leg.

Today~in a nutshell

  • The results from the "Which is your favorite Bryanism" survey are in! Over half of the votes were for "Busy" making that our winning Bryanism. Thank you all so very much for participating in our little survey! Your input will most definitely make it into the next family album for our sweet Bryan to look back on. :)

  • Also, today we played "Musical Bedrooms". Since Lydia is now in a toddler bed we thought she might need to come downstairs. So, we moved her downstairs and Bryan upstairs into Lydia's room. Moved Elysa out of the room and into Dylan's room and moved Dylan in with Bryan, leaving the game room as a play room rather than another bedroom. (There will be a quiz on all that later.) :) Anyhow, remember this? Well, now that this is her room, it appears that she thought it wasn't "cool" enough so she added a little more decoration. This time it was in the form of a bandaid on the wall which, bytheway, WON'T COME OFF! Any suggestions on this one??? Perhaps I should just leave it until she is done with her masterpiece?
  • And tonight Grandmommy and Grandpa stopped by for a quick visit. What a nice surprise! And what a cute pic too! (I think we started taking "group" pictures when it was just the two boys and the grandparents, so we have a "series" now. And this one is probably my fave so far!)
  • And today I got to spend a little time with my girls before the boys came home from school. YAY! What a treat!

And so there you have it...Today. In a nutshell. Thanks for stopping by!

You might have a problem if...

You take 20-some-odd pictures Of your daughter In her new bed And you can't decide Which ones to cut from the blog So you post them ALL. :)

Not Me! Monday

It's that time again! Welcome to the Godseysix edition of Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week. Allright, then. Let's get this party started...
Last week was not full of interesting and slightly embarassing moments like this one. I normally do my bible studies at night, right before bed. I'm in my PJs and the kids are in bed. I snuggle up with my bible and my lesson book and have my quiet time right there in bed. On one night in particular, I realized after getting in my PJs that I left my bible study literature in the van. It was late~9 o'clock-ish~and I just knew my neighbors would be inside for the night. I did not go outside in my nightgown to fetch my literature from the van. And more importantly, my next door neighbor did not come outside to take down his trash cans while I was outside in my nightgown. {Sigh} And then I did not do the first thing that came to mind when I heard his back door shut and climb into my van, hit the dome light override, and sit in the van until he was finished taking his trash to the curb. But one thing is for sure...that will never happen to me again! No, Not me!

Something else I apparently did not do this week was laundry. However, I would never let the laundry go so long that it would be as enticing to a child as, say, a pile of leaves on a fall day. No! Not me! I do not totally love this picture of my youngest, and I do not think everybody else in the world should too. (I'm not biased or anything. Nope. Not me!)

And this month for our Sunday School social, wii did not send our children to the childcare provided by the church so that wii could play with their toys. No way! Not we! And I did not have a blast despite looking and feeling ridiculous. Nope! Not me!

And since I am trying to start eating healthier, I am trying to cook healthier for my family, too. However, some of them aren't quite into the new healthier food. And I would certainly never deceive them and serve mashed cauliflower to them leading them to think it was mashed potatoes. And I most certainly did not laugh aloud as I ate my meal because none of them could tell the difference. Who, me?

So, what about you? Was there anything that you just didn't do this week? Go ahead, 'fess up! I'm not dying to know! :)

Which is your favorite "Bryanism"?

Hey fellow bloggeranianites! How about a survey? I was reminiscing last night as I scrolled back through the archives of the blog, and was giggling to myself about all of Bryan's ~isms. I have a poll out to the side of today's post where you can vote for your favorite "Bryanism". I thought it would be something cute and different to include in their "family year books" that I create for the kids to look back on as they grow up and have children of their own. So, if you wouldn't mind, it would only take a second or two and I think Bryan will really love looking back on this. And in case you might have forgotten exactly what his terms mean, I have copied their definitions and included them below. (You can vote on more than 1 in case you can't pick just one.) Thanks for voting!

Busy (adj): A state of being where you feel like everything is spinning around you.
Used in exact context: Today as we were at the mall, David and I had all 4 kids on the carousel when Bryan announced to anyone within earshot that he was "getting busy on this carousel."

Bryanism # 436: Bryan describes his brain.
It has a mouth that goes "mo-mo-mo-mo" and it looks like a bald panda bear.

rudin' (v) To break in on talk or action.
Used in exact context (as Bryan is telling a story and Daddy interrupts him): "Daddy I'm trying to talk and you're always rudin' me!"

Blinking (v) That pounding feeling inside your chest after you have been chasing your big brother around the house for a solid 15 minutes.
Used in a sentence: "Mommy, my heart is blinking."

grow up (v)--something that you do when you don't feel well. It is usually very messy if you don't make it to the toilet in time.
Used in a sentence: "Mommy, I don't feel well. I think I am about to grow up."

Smarty Cat

So I was inside tonight cleaning, laundry, etc, etc when I heard Mesa barking~BARKING~ in the backyard. In the entire year we have had Mesa, I don't think I have ever heard her bark. I knew Dylan was outside with her so I ran outside to make sure everything was okay and once outside, this is what I found:

Meet "Eugene" the "Truck Man"

In the car on the way home from preschool today:

Me: How was school today, Bryan?

Bryan: It was good. Guess what I want to be when I grow up?

Me (really excited to hear from my baby boy: a fireman maybe, the president, another astronaut perhaps): What do you want to be when you grow up?

Bryan: A truck man.

Me: Oh. What is a truck man? (All the while thinking "really? a trucker?")

My sweet son: You know a man who drives a truck. Just like daddy.

Me (thinking this is cute): Ooooh!

My little "truck man: And when I do grow up I want to be called "Eugene".

Me (thinking this is sweet because he is named after my dad): Why Eugene?

Eugene: Because I like Mr. Crabs! (from Spongebob...whose first name is Eugene.)

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to the Godseysix's edition of Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week. Okay, then. Here we go..........

Last Friday was Grandmama's birthday. We decided to stop by and wish her a little "Happy Birthday". The kids were a little fussy because everything they wanted to play with I said "no" to, and Lydia was complaining constantly of being thirsty. Their constant fussies did not get to me and I did not, in any way, allow my 1-year-old to use my Grandad's pill bottle as a "rattle" just to keep her happy. Not me!

Nor, did I let my two middle children play with his collectibles as if they were toys. That would be a bad thing for a mom to do and might even lead the children to believe that they could pitch fits to get their way. And I would never contribute to that kind of raising. Never. No, not me!

Well, maybe I might have done those things...I mean, since there is photo evidence and all. But the following have no pictures associated with them. So I most certainly did not do these:

Last night, as I ran lap 7 0f 10 on the treadmill with my IPOD on shuffle, I did not, nor would I ever, listen to "5 Little monkeys jumping on the bed" sung by a group of pre-schoolers in it's entirety without skipping to another song. Not me. No, not me.

I did not have a early morning melt down one day this week because I was running late for work and my darling husband got the boys ready for school, dressing Dylan in a shirt that was 2 sizes too small for him on a picture day. Not me, no sir-ee!

I did not take my son to get his hair cut all the while having myself pampered a bit and getting my eyebrows done only to get to the register to realize that I had left all forms of payment at home. Un-uh. Not me!

I did not get interrupted this week by a nosy little 2-year-old while I was shaving my legs, and when she asked me what I was doing, I did not tell her a small tale like "Mommy is combing her hairs on her legs." I mean that would be smart, though, seeing as she's only 2 and way too early to be learning about shaving. But I did not do that. No! Not me!

And since I did not do the aforementioned, it would have been impossible for me to have giggled to myself when she grabbed her daddy's comb and sat down next to me on the floor and began combing her leg hairs. Nope. Not me!

I did not get so giddy about my first Not Me! Monday post that I began working on it on Friday of last week. And I certainly did not post it hours before the clock hit "Monday". That would be absurd and so very not me!

So, that about sums up what all I have not been doing this week. You think you're up to braving the task and telling everyone else what you have not been doing this week? Head on over to MckMama's blog and grab her button, then blab away! It's kinda theraputic, in a way! :) And I, in no way, under any circumstances, would not love to read about what all you have not been doing this week! Oh! And do not have fun!

Happy Birthday Grandmama!

That's Grandmama --Not to be confused with the infamous Grandmommy. And today was her 40th birthday. Okay, okay...so maybe not her 40th, but it really was her birthday. Happy Birthday, Grandmama! We love you!!!

Just Horsing Around

Today we took the kids to one of our co-worker's farm to ride horses. We had a great time! They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll quit using words and start with the pictures now. Enjoy!
Dylan brushing his horse.

Bryan cleaning his pony's hooves.

Lydia brushing one of the horses.

Elysa LOVED the horses and wanted to keep petting them.
Daddy even rode (and did quite well!)
Bryan riding
Lydia riding
Elysa riding
Dylan riding
Mommy riding
Feeding the horses after riding
The End!

A Change in Scenery

I normally do my daily exercise on the treadmill, but today I decided that we should all go out as a family for some exercise. I think I may have burned a total of 14 calories, seeing as we were moving at a snail's pace which was constantly dropping down to a standstill. Bryan doesn't yet know how to pedal his bike, Dylan wasn't able to pedal his bike uphill, and Lydia insisted on talking to every bug, rock, and mud puddle she came across. It took us upwards of 40 minutes to make the block. So, no calories burned but sweet memories were etched into my heart. Here are some of them:
