No ifs, ands,

Or butts,
Elysa's gonna do what Elysa wants to do.

And now I must go, because my now-3-year-old Lydia just informed me that she has "a bug on her friggin' foot".

You would think they were raised by hoodlums.

Or nudists.

My Apologies...

I have been the very worst internet friend over the past few days, or so. I have hardly kept up with my blog, I have kept up with your blogs even less, and if you have emailed me or facebooked me or twittered me or rolled my house with toilet paper or left me a comment here, please forgive me for not getting back with you sooner. I've just been that busy!
Here's a little snippet of what's been going on since I last posted:
Lydia turned 3!
Bryan turned "the real 5"! (Not to be confused with the counterfeit 5).
We had a big birthday party!

We have new toys!

And a new playground thanks to my favorite guys!

We visited pink palace and Childrens Museum.

And celebrated Kaylie's birthday, too.

Oh, yeah. And our brand new house fell apart.

But more on that later. In the meantime, please enjoy these birthday celebration pics! (Photos courtesy of my dear friend Amanda) Happy Birthday to my sweet, sweet Bryan and Lydia! I love you so both so very much. From here to the stars!!!

Well, that's just grape!

Today I took Lydia and Bryan to get their hair cut and then we went to the grocery store. I got a great deal on some grapes. How great? Well, let's just say that when I put the bag of stems on the register to check out Bryan must have noticed the puzzled look on my face and offered a quick explanation. "Lydia has been eating them the whole time you were shopping." :sigh: So. Lydia.

So, what do you say to the check out guy? "Just charge me for a half pound or so." (?)

I guess after all those grapes, she was probably "stirfy". That's Lydia for thirsty!

Another one of them Ramblin' Posts

Because I know just how much you just love them. Or not. Or maybe, depending on the subject matter.

Anyhow.

Is it just me or does anyone else think this is the perfect family portrait...of us!

Haha! I love it!

What?! I said it was going to be random! Oh, wait. No I didn't. I said ramblin'. Well, looks like I've got that covered already, too!

So anyway.

You think we could get a break from this heat anytime soon? I was looking up the forecast for this week, because all of my favorite men in my life are coming over Friday to put together a huge wooden swing set for the kids (for Bryan and Lydia's birthdays) and I was hoping they might catch a break. Looks like they kinda-sorta-but-not-really did catch a break. Look what would have happened had they waited until Sat to put it together!

You want really random? How about this: Wanna know how I felt when I was pregnant with Lydia 3 years ago? It was something like this:
How's that for random? Oh. But I never said random, did I? Oh, foot.
Doesn't this picture remind you of the cat in the hat?
"The sun did not shine. It was too wet to play. So we sat in the house. All that cold, cold, wet day."

So, like I always say: No news is good news, but it doesn't really make for good blogging. Maybe next time you visit I won't be so random ramblin'.

Dear Mr. Camp Counselor,

You were so very kind to pull out my son's third loose tooth while he was away at camp yesterday. However, I do have one concern. Not only did the "tooth fairy" not come to visit him last night (as she was totally unaware of said tooth falling being yanked out) but her bank, as well as most every other bank in her neck of the woods, is closed until Monday morning. Which means she will also miss stopping by tonight. Next time, please attempt to make contact with the tooth fairy prior to assisting with any drastic changes that will result in the tooth fairy being required to pay out the big bucks. Remember we are in a recession, and if the tooth fairy is anything like me (which I am pretty sure she probably is) I'm confident that she doesn't have the extra cash on hand. Please know that we're not upset. We're just broke. So we can totally empathize with the tooth fairy on this one. :) But I must say that he is looking awfully handsome with his new toothless grin!
Oh, and thanks for taking such great care of our sweet boy while he was away. He had a great time and we truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts! :)

With sincerest appreciation,
The Tooth Fairy

5 Reasons Why I LOVE being a mom:

  1. Yummy,Yummy hugs. That's what we call hugs with Elysa. She thinks it is the funniest thing. I think they're just yummy!
  2. Seeing the pride on this guys face when we finally took him to buy this suitcase with his own, hard-earned money. I think he realizes now that it was totally worth making up the bed, cleaning his room, and helping around the house. :)
  3. After a full 24 hours with no break from her incessant talking, I can look at pictures of her and realize that she is SO. STINKIN'. SWEET. Love those quiet moments when I can reflect on their little lives.
  4. Getting phone calls at 9:30 at night from my second born who is spending the night with Grandmommy, but didn't forget to call and tell me goodnight right before he went to sleep. I was on his mind and I'm lovin' that!
  5. The fact that I get to experience it all with this handsome man, who made it all happen. I love you, sweetie! Happy Father's Day!!!

Way-fewer Words Wednesday

Never ceasing to amaze me, my little Bryan was listening to his big brother's MP3 player yesterday and was actually singing along to Third Day's "Call My Name". Whoa! Talk about a proud momma moment! And it was all caught on tape...errr, well at least the last few verses were caught on tape. So, so sweet! Hope you enjoy!

Not me! Monday

It's Monday, people! And it wasn't me! Welcome once again to the Godseysix edition of Not me! Monday. A blog carnival created and hosted by MckMama, where mothers, wives, and other bloggers from computers around the world deny doing the things that they did during the week. A sort of confession-type therapy, only we're not really confessing are we? Well you might be, but I'm not. Nope, not me!

  • I did not totally copy and paste my intro from last week's not me monday post because I'm too lazy to come up with a new one this week. Sorry 'bout that ya'll!

  • As I mentioned a couple of days ago, this little ham did not refer to the monstrous storm we had over the weekend as a "pornado". I did not giggle to myself when she used the term. I'm a grown up and way more mature than that. Pornado. Teeheehee. Ahem.
  • Speaking of pornadoes tornadoes, I did not stop by these people's home to take a picture of the massive tree that fell. That would be kinda creepy to see some random person taking pictures of my home, so I would certainly never do that to anyone else.
  • But seriously, that tree fell because of some wind. Pretty darn impressive, no?

  • I did not get a teensy bit stressed out while taking the kids out for ice cream with my parents this weekend. But if I did, they would have totally made up for it by posing so well for this wonderful group photo.
  • And on that very same day I did not nearly wet my britches from excitement when my granddad agreed to let me take a picture of him with all the kids. (He does not like to have his picture taken. Really does not.)
  • And lastly, I did not spend all day Saturday trying to figure out how to create a custom signature line at the bottom of my blog posts. I did, however, succeed and I will now wrap this post up so you can see it! :)
Well, guess that wraps up my Not me! Monday. Don't forget to stop by My Charming Kids to see what all every one else claims not to have done this week.

Happy Monday everyone!

***Oh, and one more thing! If you have not yet entered in the giveaway, you still have time! Click here to go directly to the giveaway to see what's up for grabs. Hurry, though, because it ends at 9pm (central time) on Tuesday 6/16~which is...like...tomorrow!
