Trunk-or-Treat 2009

Last Sunday we took the kids to Bartlett Baptist Church's Trunk-or-Treat.Where my children, all decked out in their Halloween costumes, refused to pose for a picture. So, I took the best group picture I could get, which was, unfortunately, without my little Elmo.
I was however able to get a great individual pics of Anikan Skywalker.
And Tinker Bell.
And Bumblebee, turned Iron Man.
But not even one good picture of my little Elmo.
We stayed long enough to have dinner
And a soda.
Before we headed home to get out of the cold. And check out what was in our pumpkins.
Which is where I was able to get my first good group photo of the night. Unfortunately, there were no costumes left at this point.
And I even got a good picture of Elmo. Or, well, Elysa anyway.

Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!!

What's for dinner?

I was planning on having chicken for dinner. But after a second thought

I think I'd prefer the ham. Yummy! :)

**This is Elysa's newest, eh, accomplishment. :) She is always climbing on the top of the tables in the house. After my initial 2 or 3 near-bout-heart-attacks, I decided it was worthy of a few pictures and some blog time. :) I love that little ham!

Here we go again!

As if last year we didn't have a diverse enough group,
This Halloween, the Godsey crew will be spreading the love...

A weekend with the Ballbusters

This weekend we had our annual Hester-Sykes tournament. Basically, it is a softball tournament that our police association hosts as a way for officers to get together, play some ball, and just have a good time. It usually ends with funds that were raised being donated to local charities.

Last year, we had a group of female officers that wanted to play in the tournament but rarely got any playing time in the field since the guys take winning so seriously. They came together and we formed the first-ever all-women's police softball team.

This year is our second year playing. We don't expect to win anything, but we have a good time. And after last year, we have lots of people who come to the park just to watch us play and hang out with us between the games!

Here are a few pics from the weekend:

Friday night: getting everything set up.

The BallBuster tent. Funnest place to hang in the whole ball park!

The ladies in pink...warming up!

First group photo: we were missing a few of the girls.

The guys didn't take us too seriously.

Until we started striking them out... distracting them with our "secret" weapon. The dance pole! (I told ya we had a good time!)

Then they decided to take us a little more seriously. (Well, as serious as you can be when you're swinging a pink t-ball bat...another one of our winning techniques: switch all their bats!)

Me at bat:

And running to first after bustin' the ball! We are the Ballbusters!

A final group shot.

I wanna rock with you!

For his birthday, Daddy got Rock Band 2. It's a video game where you get to be the guitarist/drummer/singer of some great classic songs! It has become quite the past time in our home and the kids are becoming quite the rock group! (They have more or less repo-ed daddy's birthday present.)I have to admit that I find it really, really cool to hear my babies rocking out to Fleetwood Mac and Steve Miller Band! So cute!

Hats off!

to bloggers everywhere that can keep up with their blogs! I wish I was still one of them. Because my kiddos are still doing waaayyyy cute things. Like celebrating "h is for hat" day at school.

And growing up right before my very eyes!
